{Nap time!!}

This past week we have been getting Owen on a nap schedule and it worked itself out pretty well and I have to admit that I love it when he naps :) Its mom time then. Now, I am actually getting some things done and answering some emails in a timely manner!
Owen takes 3 naps a day- the morning nap is about an hour, the afternoon is anywhere from 1.5 hrs to 3 hrs and his late afternoon nap is about 45 min to an hour... Love the naps!
I am starting my workout/get back in shape routine today... I really want to do it and then at the same time, I dont... seems like there is so much work ahead of me! I guess that just means I better get started now!

Here is a picture from our dinner last night with the Davids- I didn't get any of Isabel and me but I did get a shot of the dads following us downtown while pushing the boys... what great husbands and fathers :) We strolled down to the Grove for dinner with the babies and it went really well! Elliott and Owen will be hanging out a lot... Isabel and I are plotting a vacation overseas with the babies .... :)

Saturday

Owen and I were listening to Dave Matthews Band on the tv and hanging out- we went to Hermann Park and Brasil for lunch this morning with Amy and Evan and had a great time!

Steak & Wine night @ Flemings

Last night I went to dinner with Cortney and we had a blast. Jeremy took care of Owen and I got a night off :) I really enjoyed spending time with Cortney and catching up!

Lotte's weekend with Owen!

My mother watched Owen all weekend while Jeremy and I went to Chicago. I came back and Owen was on a napping schedule and was doing just fine! I am so lucky to have such a great mom who is such a wonderful grandmother! Lotte- Owen misses you!

Chicago!

Jeremy and I had our first weekend away from Owen and we had a blast! We went to the top of Sears/Willis tower, caught a show at Second City comedy club, saw Phoenix at Lollapalooza, got some tapas at Cafe Ba Ba Reba and I had my first dirty martini since before I was pregnant at Gibsons Saturday afternoon! And... we did make a quick run by Barneys on Saturday afternoon! We had a great time- I came home to a home cooked lunch by Lotte and a happy little baby boy! :)

This was the first vacation that I actually used the mini bar... well the freezer that is... I had to fly with my breast pump and had to use it... so why not save the good milk? :) I flew home with 40 oz of milk... that stuff is like gold!

Owen went to lunch with mommy and got to meet his future playmate, Elliott! He also got to meet my very good friend, Amy, who is always jet setting across the world!

Jamie came to visit!

One of my oldest and closest friends from high school came to Houston to visit Owen! Here are a couple pictures of the two of them!! Owen is so lucky to have such amazing older women looking after him :) xoxo Jamie- you are an amazing 'older' woman now... ha! :)

Back from Chicago!

Well, I made it back today from Chicago. I had a blast! Ill post pictures and blog about it tomorrow... here are a couple pics from this afternoon- I was so excited to hold my little munchkin! I missed him so so much!!

First weekend away- Chicago and Lollapalooza

We are heading to Chicago tomorrow am to enjoy some slightly cooler weather, less humidity and good music.... as well as a few late mornings, late nights and a couple cocktails ;)
My first weekend away from Owen starts tomorrow and I cant help but start to already miss him even when I am sitting right here holding him.
I wouldn't trade a single late night or extremely too early of a morning with my precious son for anything- however, I am looking forward to spending some time with Jeremy.
We leave tomorrow and return Sunday. Lotte is flying into Houston to spend some time with her grandson and I know she is REALLY looking forward to that! When I opted to fly out on Friday instead of Thursday, my mother suggested I keep my itinerary and fly out Thursday am- and I think that is just because she wanted more alone time with Owen :) haha

I am going to try and only call once every other hour instead of every hour while I am away... :)

Now, this is what a baby will do to 2 parents. I hit the sand and it was like I was laying in an actual nursery, but with the actual sound machine being the actual waves this time... I was out like a light....

A visit to dads office!

Today Owen and I went by to see dad at work and meet everyone at the office! The visit was complete with dad changing Owens diaper on top of his desk... ha!

We wish dad could stay at home with us more often and we really appreciate that he goes to work for us, so that we can be at home together. We love you dad!!

Today Owen laughed for the VERY FIRST TIME and I was able to catch it on video! It was the most precious experience! I couldn't believe that I was hearing his little laugh- it was amazing. So cute!!!
