Bermuda and Kontes!

Wow, Bermuda is absolutely beautiful! This was my first trip to the island and I told Kim that I am most definitely coming back with Owen to get my diving certification and explore the underwater world out there with her!
Owen and I flew up alone on the 6am Friday morning flight which was awesome and not a problem at all. We flew to NY and then down to Bermuda- it was a great trip. Dont get me wrong, it is MUCH easier flying with Jeremy when traveling with Owen but Owen was a great travel buddy. The flight attendants loved him and they all wanted to hold him- which was awesome because they made me coffee and I was able to use the restroom all hands free!
If I had my choice I would fly first thing in the morning on the 6am flight like we did or I would do a late 7 pm flight. We flew out of NY returning to Houston on the 7pm flight and it worked out great because Owen ate and then he slept the entire flight!

Here are some pictures from our trip!

Owen and our really nice flight attendant who LOVED holding Owen.

Jim, Michael and Trevor took Owen and me to the botanical gardens where ew hung out in a boys paradise ( a huge climbing tree) and then kicked the soccer ball around a while on the grass.

Beautiful Beach!

Pics from Bermuda are coming soon...!

Eeeeeee!

As of yesterday morning, Owen has figured out how to 'squeal'. You know that high pitch screeching noise a baby can make that makes your toes curl... that is the sound I am talking about. He likes to make it when he is perfectly happy and content- I think he is experimenting on my reaction time to see how fast I will react to him after he makes that noise because he does it ALL the time now! It is really perfect timing for our flight to Newark and then down to Bermuda tomorrow- ha! I am packing books and toys and I am hoping that between eating sleeping and playing I can do enough to keep him from finding that high pitch again- thank you music class :)
Wish me luck tomorrow... I am really looking forward to those beautiful beaches!

I used to be the person that rolled my eyes and thought to myself " oh great, this is just awwwesome. Where are my head phones, hurry, quick put them on and turn the volume all the way up" when a baby sat near me on a plane- funny how tables turn.

Unconditional Love

I love this little boy more than I ever imagined I was capable of... he makes me smile every single day in a completely different and new way.
Jeremy and I are so lucky to have him and I am so blessed to have them.

I think it is important to 'count your blessings'- as cliche' as it sounds, it is all too true.

Our little pumpkin: Austin and San Antonio

Owen and I jumped in the car and drove to San Antonio Wednesday afternoon to spend a few days with Lotte. We covered some serious ground and saw some great friends and family. Owen was the perfect road trip buddy... I first packed up the car and took him to San Antonio when he was 4 weeks old. A lot of friends couldnt believe that I would make that trip alone with Owen, but I couldnt believe I had to wait 4 weeks to do it! I love taking Owen places and giving him these experiences- I often joke about how Jeremy and I plan to strap him on our back and travel with him and there is no joking to it... we are very serious! We are all going to Bermuda next weekend and we cant wait!

On Wednesday we stopped in Katy to visit Jeremy's grandmother and Owen's great grandmother, Granny, who turns 91 in December! Owen is the first 'Radcliffe' grandson, so Granny was thrilled that we were having a boy who would carry the Radcliffe name.

We were lucky enough to spend the next afternoon with Nana, Owens other great grandmother! Grandy met us at Nana's and we took Owen to the pumpkin patch down the road and had a blast with him.

Grandy put Owen on 'blackie' the tire swing horse... I think Owen will be riding his pony in no time!

Owen also go to hang out with Uncle Chance-

One of my great friends from high school came by and met Owen. Courtney is due with Hugo Stolte V (aka: Cinco) in 7 weeks! I really enjoyed catching up with her and I am so excited that she is having a boy! Courtney- I cant wait to meet Cinco!

Mom and I drove to Austin with Owen and had a great time. We stayed at San Jose Hotel and it worked out perfectly for us because we could sit by the pool after Owen went to bed and enjoy a glass(es) of wine and we could watch him the entire time with my video monitor- I love that thing!

Of course we had to pop into By George, one of my favorite store, and Owen was center of attention while waiting on me to try on some things...

We love Jo's Coffee shop

Like father, like son

Look at these photos of Jeremy around 6 months of age.... Owen looks jut like his father with the same cute noise, big cheeks, precious chin and big eyes.

JEREMY: 6 months old

OWEN: 4 months old

JEREMY:

Zoo Members!

We had a great weekend and Owen had a pretty eventful one himself. Friday night Owen went to stay with Kiss and Papi because Jeremy and I went to see The National play at House of Blues. Saturday night Owem got to go to Cedar Creek with us for our friend Jessica's birthday- he was up a little later than usual- he went to bed around 8:30 and he woke up at 8:30am(AWESOME!!! We spent most of the day today watching football with Uncle Jake, Uncle Noush, and dad. Early this afternoon my friend Amy and her son, Evan, came over and we walked from my house over to Hermann Park and we made a stop at the zoo.
Owen and I are officially zoo members and we plan on making lots of trips to the zoo- especially once the African Forest exhibit opens. We are definitely going to go check out the zoo this next week because it looks like our weather forecast is pretty promising with lows in the mid 50s and highs in the lower 80s.

Here is a picture of Uncle Jake feeding Owen his sweet potatoes and oat cereal- mmmm:

Owen was worn out from the park and zoo:

Long (or tall?) Baby Owen!

I haven't put an update about Owen's 4 month appointment so Ill just give the quick details on it.
Owen weighs 15lbs and is 26 inches long!

Owen is 85th percentile in height (basketball player?)
50th percentile in weight
60th percentile in head size

We have one long lean baby and he is a healthy one! He came into this world at almost 9 lbs and he hasn't slowed down one bit!

Today we had rice and green beans! :)
(rice cereal and pureed green beans mixed in)

19 weeks +

Just a few pictures from today....

Owen with his Clementine (We have a real donkey named Clementine, at the farm in Roundtop, this is Owens little Clementine- we cant wait to show Owen big Clementine who hangs out with the cows at the farm!)

Owen and I went for a walk this morning and stopped by to see Dr. Nona in action... I'm sure one day Owen is going to want to go see Nona at work and play doctor :)

Nona, watch out- Owen is going to steal your patients away from you with his cute smile:)

We also made a stop by daddys office to surprise him with a Starbucks Mocha... Today was a good day! Tomorrow we are going to eat green beans- yeah!!

Mmmmm, I like it!

This week Owen started eating... well, chewing that is, or should I call it 'gumming'? Either way, Owen has started taking food by a spoon and he loves it! We started oat cereal ( bc its apparently easier on the digestive system, compared to rice cereal). I mix a little prune juice with the milk and cereal and Owen loves it! Yesterday he wanted more and more and more! We will start a vegetable on Friday... not sure what we are gong to try yet- the doc said it didnt matter what you tried as long as you fed him the same food for 3-4 days straight... Time to break out the Beaba/Babycook and get creative!
Here are a few pictures of Owen enjoying his new tastes!

Owen has also started teething- his little cheeks get pink and hes been chomping on anything he can get in his mouth- his favorite things to chew are Jeremy's fingers and hands... he has been much fussier than normal- a bit off... I sure am hoping that this will pass soon!

growing up so faat!

here Owen is.... looking more like a toddler than a baby..
