A few more from Nantucket...

Here are a few more pictures from our Nantucket trip...it is amazing how much my little boy has grown up since that week! Its been a little over a month since that trip and Owen looks so much older already

Rolling!

Owen rolled from his tummy to his back... and then tried to roll back over to his stomach- he got half way there. The entire time he was 'talking' to his stuffed animals hanging from above!

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring....

It has been raining nonstop in Houston today and I absolutely love it! I love the rain and I think I love it so much because I grew up in a part of Texas that did not get a lot of rain as frequently as we do in Houston.

I love hanging out in the living room with Owen while its raining! I know that when Owen turns mobile and wants to start running around, I am going to be much less favorable towards rainy wet days... but for now, I can cuddle with Owen and I am taking advantage of it!

Our AT&T has been out since Saturday, which was fine because I don't really watch TV that often anyways, so today on our rainy day we listened to a lot of music and it was so fun to watch Owen react to the different types of music. He LOVES the 'beats'/percussion as well as the xylophone (Rockabye Rendition Beatles, U2, Bob Marley and Coldplay CDs). If you have any suggestions of good african/tribal/percussion music, email me!

We laughed and played with a lot of his toys and hung out in our sweatpants all day... Owen is ALMOST rolling over.. we practiced for a while today- Owen was trying so hard!We finished the day with a 20 minute bath filled with lots of laughing, soap and a rainbow waterfall that went all over the island... thank you for that Owen- next time I need to grab the "wee whiz" for the bath!

Bubble Time!

3 months and 2 weeks old!

Doesnt this look just make you melt? I have a feeling I am going to see this face again and again!

Owen is now 14 weeks old!!!

I think one of Owen's biggest milestones has been his ability to sleep, like his momma! At 7 days he was sleeping 8 hours through the night... at 9 weeks he started sleeping 10 hours solid through the night with an inconsistent 12 hour night here and there... and by 12 weeks the little man is consistently sleeping 12 hours 6:30-6:30 if he can stay in his swaddle all night- right now he is somehow getting his right arm out of the swaddle and when he does, he bops himself in the face and wakes up...until we re-do his swaddle and plug him with a pacifier.. oh Owen! He is on a pretty good nap schedule that was pretty easy to put him on, I just started swaddling him and putting him in his crib at the same time each day and he sleeps for at least an hour each segment, sometimes more and sometimes less.. but on average about an hour, 3 times a day and more when we are running errands and driving around.

So, tonight I am going to try the miracle swaddle- lets see how much of a miracle it is.

He is eating 8oz every 4 hours!

Owen is talking and saying lots of "mmms' "ooohs" "uuuuws" and is starting to grab things with a little bit more control. He lays on his belly and holds him self up with his arms and is very strong. He will stand for long periods when you hold him upright and he is starting to drool much more now... makes me wonder if that means those teeth are starting to make their way up- we shall see!

Next weekend we are flying to Bermuda, so it will be Owen's first international trip! I have his passport- its hilarious to see a picture of a baby on a passport! We can't wait to visit our friends the Konte's! The last time we saw them was at our wedding- they have to be one of the most amazing, fun and super cool families we know! If Owen was crawling and walking, I know he would be right at Michael and Trevor's heels.

We have a couple weeks until our next doctor appointment, and I am so excited to see how big this little munchkin is! I am guessing he is at 15lbs right now (because 2.5 weeks ago he weighed 13lbs) and 25 inches long.

Your daddy and I are so lucky to have you. You have changed our life for the very best and we love you more than anything in the world. I can not believe how much you have grown the last few months- you continue to amaze us in all that you do.

Labor Day weekend= time to chill!

Here are a few pictures from Grandy's visit. We went to the Rice/UT football game- my brother-in-law plays for the Rice Football team- Owen is going to LOVE watching Uncle James play football over the next 5 years! We really enjoyed our very low key weekend- Owen and dad took a nap in the grass, Owen go to meet Miss Anita and we were able to hang out with some great friends!

Lo Visits!

Last weekend Aunt Lo came to visit Mr. Owen! We LOVED having Laurie visit!

Almost 3 months!

It is so hard to believe that my little boy is going to be 3 months old on August 30th! Where has the time gone?! Owen is already babbling (mimicking) several different sounds. His favorite is "Ooooh", and of course this one makes complete sense... as in "Oooo"wen. And he also LOVES to say "eeee-oh" short for his favorite song Old MacDonald- "eee-i-eeee-i-oh". He also likes "mmmm-uhhh". I think that one stands for "momma". He had his first big laugh when he was 9 weeks old and his smile makes my heart melt every day.

When I walk in his room in the morning to get him out of his crib he looks at me, smiles a big huge smile, kicks both his legs up in the air and makes a little squeal noise- its the most precious site I have ever seen. When I am away from Owen, its the mornings that we are so blessed to be able to spend together and his precious smile, that I miss when I wake up without him.

He and I have been hanging out at home, taking it easy, getting back on schedule and enjoying the fact that we have nowhere we have to be! Owen has been completely obsessed with his sign language video- its amazing how much this little boy is absorbing!
Even more than his Baby Signing video, Owen loves Rockabye Renditions of Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Bob Marley. U2 is pretty amazing too- I love listening to the music with him.

Jeremy has been out of town since Monday- we both miss daddy a lot and cant wait for him to get home tonight!

I never would have imagined a year ago that I would be holding my son, but I wouldn't have it any other way.... being a mother is amazing and so much fun.

Texas Family Tour ... east to west!

Thursday morning I drove to Katy, Tx to pick up Owen. He spent the night at Papi and Kiss' house while Jeremy and I went to the Jack Johnson concert with Carey and Sarah! Once we ate, we loaded up and headed to Lotte's in San Antonio. Friday morning we left for Concan to go stay the weekend with Grandy! Papi, Kiss and daddy met us there Friday evening and we spent the weekend until Sunday. Sunday afternoon we went to Nana's (Owen's great grandmother) to meet the family- Owen also got to meet his great great grandmother, Mammaw! After dinner we spent the night at Lotte's and drove home today (Monday).
Owen was the best road trip partner. He is so self soothing and chill that he rarely makes a peep... he will make grunts and when that happens, I have about 15 minutes to exit for a diaper change- ha! But... that has only happened a couple times!
Friday night Owen slept in the room with Jeremy and me... and that didnt really work out so well. Since Owens first night at home he has slept in his crib and sleeps great in it... I found out real quick that I could not sleep well at all with Owen next to me.... Owen will sleep 12 hours through the night at home in his crib but I think he wakes up several times during the night and just goes back to sleep on his own because I never hear a thing on the monitor... but when he is sleeping next to me, I wake up to every sound and try to put a pacifier in his mouth and I wake him up in the process- haha... what a mess! I never slept longer than an hour that night- what a disaster! I was one tired mom on Saturday! It was the worst sleep night of Owens life- and that isn't an exaggeration, its the truth :) I am a spoiled mom with my deep sleeping baby!

On Saturday afternoon Kelly and Callie came by to say hello and dad had a bunch of our friends over to meet Owen- it was great to see all of our old friends that I don't get to see that often! Owen stayed up until about 7:30, but that was as late as he could make it... Uncle Chance put him to sleep! Saturday afternoon Owen got pretty cranky and was getting pretty exhausted with his travels and schedule changes... but that night after all of our friends left the house, Owen slept in Grandys room and he slept until 7:30 am for Grandy! Woohoo! :) Grandys got the touch!

Jeremy, Owen and I headed to Nana's on Sunday and we got to see all the family and meet Owen's second cousin, Vance who is 2 months older than Owen! Owen also got to meet his GREAT GREAT grandmother, Mammaw!

We drove back to Houston today and Owen was a tired little boy- he took 2, 1.5 hour naps and was out by 7pm. I hope he sleeps through the night!
