Finally, an update!
Today is a big day... well its the big day, before the actual big day for Owen... his first birthday is tomorrow!
A year ago today, Jeremy took me to dinner at Antica Osteria (my favorite Italian place)... but that was only after we had called Dr. Ivey on his cell phone because Jeremy was convinced I was in labor because I was having contractions 3-4 minutes apart... but it turned out that it was a false alarm. We didn't realize we were only 12 hours away from a trip to the hospital and 24 hours from meeting Owen! I cant believe its been an entire year since that phone call and dinner! I sat, right here where I am sitting right now, weighing what felt like 200 lbs with a consistent back pain. Tate was by my side all day- he never let me out of his sight and he wanted to put his head on my belly all day- and he wouldnt take no for an answer. I remember thinking that tomorrow is the big due date and I was wondering whether he would come on his due date or if he was going to wait a week like some of my friends had to. I remember being so excited and yet completely terrified but as soon as Id feel my back pain I wasn't terrified, I wanted that baby out and in our arms more than anything!
Owen will be a YEAR old tomorrow. I can't believe it. He is crawling (so fast) everywhere and scaling the walls- I imagine that walking will be right around the corner. His favorite and probably first word after 'mama' and 'dada' was " GO!" He loves the word 'go' and that boy is constantly 'going'.
Our weeks are pretty busy, at a year old we have music class, play group, usually at least one play date with our buddy Elliott and in between that we make weekly Hermann Park visits. Pretty busy social calendar!
Jeremy and I just got back from a trip to NY and NJ. We went to NYC for a couple nights and then took the train to Princeton, NJ for Jeremy's college reunion. Unfortunately, both of us lost our voices and got sick, so we flew back 12 hours earlier than planned... but we had a wonderful weekend and we were so excited to see our little toddler!
I will have a BIG update after Owen's birthday party tomorrow!!

Happy Mother's Day!
My beautiful mother and me:
(sorry, I couldn't get the picture any bigger... I had to use this picture from my college graduation because it seems as though all the pictures I have of my mother this year are with Owen... mmmm, funny how that happens :) ! )
I had a WONDERFUL mother's day. Jeremy woke up at 6am and surprised me with homemade french toast for breakfast- my FAVORITE! I slept in until 9am! I didnt know he could make this... now I do! :)
We visited Granny that afternoon and Owen got to meet his cousins, Gavin and Garrett, who are absolutely adorable. He followed Garrett around everywhere....

We got to play in the sand..
Driving around Pebble and Cyprus Point to Seal Rock:
Lots of seals on the rock:
Pebble Beach Par 3 course:
Then dinner at Dametra, amazing Greek/Italian place where Owen was mesmerized by our host, Bashar:
We had a great time and fell in love with Carmel... you can bet we will be back here before the end of the year!!!
