Dog Trot Farm

Jeremy and I went to the farm this weekend in Round Top for the first time since the wedding. Its absolutely beautiful out there- indian paintbrushes and bluebonnets are blooming along the highway and the oak trees' leaves are back... spring is definitely out in full color. I took some photos of our morning pond visit with the dogs. I also took a picture of the oak trees... and a picture of the trees where we were married. . . Tate had a blast out there- he was covered in mud before 10am Saturday morning- hilarious!!

Wont be long before there will be little boys running around the farm building forts and fishing in the pond. Its exciting to think about all the adventures I had growing up on our ranch.... we had tons of forts, four wheelers, horses, great times driving around the ranch in old beat up trucks or jeeps imagining I was 'driving my friends around' ....

Rainy day...

Its been raining all day today so I decided to try and get things in the nursery in order as much as possible. I noticed Tate wasn't upstairs with me, like he usually is, and I found him downstairs sitting on the couch on my slippers in the photo below... I think he definitely knows that a big change is about to happen.
I had to post some pictures of Tate- I love taking pictures of him!

Baby Gear!

This afternoon some girlfriends of mine and I got together for lunch. Amy and Shanell brought their little boys, Isaac (belongs to Shanell) is 7 months and Evan (belongs to Amy) is 10 weeks... and Michelle brought her 35 week belly (due end of April). Its always great to catch up with girls who are going through what I am about to go through - I do think its true that you just cant understand until you go through it- but I still think its great to get some insight and different opinions on things. Michelle is going to have a little girl, so, Evan, Isaac and Owen are going to be competing for her attention soon!
Amy was so sweet- she brought me the biggest bag of clothes- filled with newborn onesies and little outfits- 0-3 months- perfect! My sister-in-law, Molly, has also given me some great stuff that was Henry's- which is just amazing- I am so lucky!!
I have a feeling that Owen is going to have a lot of clothes- we are going to have to get some activities planned pronto so that he can wear them all!
I dont have any pictures to post today because I have been trying to organize through all our great stuff! Ill post some tomorrow!
9.5 weeks to go!

Who dat Baby Radcliffe?

'Who Dat Baby Radcliffe'? - this was the theme of our baby shower last night... in lieu of this, Jeremy and I decided to go ahead and reveal our name to the grandparents and hosts last night before the shower.. and the name is...
OWEN SCOTT RADCLIFFE

Owen is of Scottish and Greek origin... meaning " born of youth." We chose Owen because we just liked the name and found it to be very original, neither of us know an Owen... and I disagree with the sites that state Owen is in the top 30 most popular names ... ha! We chose Scott because this is my fathers middle name (and name he goes by). Owen is going to be a little golfer and hunter soon enough!

Jeremy and I are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives- we had a wonderful shower and had so much fun! We had homemade tortilla soup which was perfect for the cold front that had the nerve to blow into Houston on the day of OUR baby shower! :) We had awesome tamales from Berryhill and the best queso from Molinas along with homemade pralines... mmm, I am getting hungry again writing this!

I had a ton of fun opening up all the gifts this morning next to the fire with mom, Nona, Molly, Boysh, Debbie and Jeremy... hard to believe that Owen is going to be wearing all of these precious clothes- they are so TINY! :) Thank you to all of my friends and family for your support and love!
When I came home to put everything up and start organizing things in the nursery, Tate just stared at me in a sad puppy face... he was definitely acting different.... he knows whats up and he isn't liking it one bit!

I have been feeling great over the last 30 weeks...and everything is going well (knock on wood)!! I am just now getting to the point where I am feeling uncomfortable... I am pretty much no longer able to wear many 'pre-baby' clothing items... I still refuse to buy maternity clothes- they are just so ugly and expensive... I tend to just buy regular clothes in larger sizes and its worked out so far. I toss and turn a lot at night and of course, get up frequently in the middle of the night. . . My belly is growing and so are the digits on the scale... 30 weeks in and I have put on 20 LBs so far... Owen is definitely riding higher than what I am told your typical 'baby boy' sits. His feet are up in my ribs and he is moving all the time- which is a great thing- but definitely makes falling asleep, going back to sleep and sitting in certain positions difficult- but then again, I guess this is truly 'breaking you in' for what is to come.... I am ready- bring it Owen! :)

Henry!

This week my nephew and sister-in-law are visiting from Richmond, Virginia. Henry, my super cute nephew in the pictures, is 9 months old (born 5/2/09)- and is just precious. He and 'Radboy' will be exactly a year apart! Nona, Uncle Jake, Molly(aka: mom), little Henry and me went to the rodeo yesterday- which apparently was the most popular day of the year to go- it was a mad house and there were so many people there we all got a little overwhelmed and took off a little early. I was able to get my hands on a sausage on a stick and a funnel cake- priorities were in order, of course. . . we had a great time!

Progress...

Well, we are making a little bit of progress on the nursery. I finally chose a color and had the nursery painted!! I still have to put the skirt on the baby bed and we are waiting on our rug, dresser and chair to come in... as well as sheer linen drapes to go in front of the mirror.

I couldnt help but take a couple photos of Tate hanging out on our upstairs deck today enjoying the sun- its absolutely beautiful in Houston today!

About to POP???

Here are a few photos of me at 29 weeks pregnant. My friend, Sarah Harrison (Sarah Harrison Photography), who is an amazing photographer, took some photos of me last weekend and she did a great job! We went over to my in-laws backyard to take the photos and then we shot a few of the photos by my pool in our back yard.

Its really funny to hear all the different responses from people who inquire about my pregnancy- that I dont know. For example, I was at Diedrich's coffee shop this morning and a man looked at me and said "You look like you are ready to pop, how much longer"- haha. I smiled and told him I had 10 more weeks. He was a nice guy and meant that comment in the nicest way possible. I had another lady ask me how far along I was and when I replied with 30 weeks, 10 weeks to go- she said, wow, you are small for 30 weeks! I think she was trying to make me feel good- and it worked! :) I feel like I am getting bigger and bigger every day... and that is a good thing- the little man is growing.

It has begun...

SO... Jeremy and I have decided to attempt the 'reusable' diapers in an effort to reduce trash and continue to try and be more 'green'. I just got the diapers in.... All 30+ of them.... wish us luck. :)

Playdate for Tate

This Friday I took Tate over to see my friend, Jessica's, new cavalier king charles puppy, Daisy. Jessica and Rob now have 2 CKC's- Daisy and Duke (awww). They had so much fun and Daisy was just precious. Here are a few pictures from Friday.

Wedding Memories

I am finally getting around to uploading pics from our beautiful and unforgettable wedding on facebook for friends and family to see them. . . I wanted to just post a few of my favorites on here- and this was really hard to do since I love them all. I hope that one day I can take a photo half as good as Kristin does. . .
