So today Owen's dresser was delivered so I was finally able to put away all the clothes and 'stuff' off of the floor! I am still waiting on our gliding/rocking chair and I still need to hang the grandparent acrylic canvases, the linen drapes in front of the mirror and windows and hang the mobile above the bed... but we are almost there... and more importantly, he is almost here! I cant wait! :)
Ill post pics of the final room once it is finished... But as you can see I went with no specific theme... I wanted a soft room.

Got 'em, neighbor - Barkdull Thief Captured!
So last night Jeremy and I had an uninvited guest at our house... If you aren't familiar with the story yet- Jeremy and I have had a series of break-ins that started about a year ago. Our outdoor plasma that hangs outside on the upstairs deck went missing and then we had a break-in with our guest bedroom television stolen along with our Wii, PS3, all the games we had ( probably about 40- Jeremy likes video games) and all the controllers (including our 4 wheels for Mario Kart, which was my only and FAVORITE game to play)... Then we had surveillance cameras installed and about a month later we caught the theif on camera a third time wearing a scream mask and a jester hat breaking into the house stealing another TV (that replaced the previous stolen one)- we watched him carry it out and figured out that we he was climnbing over our 10 feet fence in the back yard behind the pool...And then we had a final break in where he stole a brand new MAC powerbook and another PS3. SERIAL THIEF. We were his own personal ATM machine.
These break-ins were over the course of about 6 months... and that was the last time he robbed us, October of 09. Since then Jeremy and I have been in town with the exception of 2 trips, one to Belize (where we had 3 undercover cops steak out the neighborhood and house while we were out of town, and one cop stayed inside our house for 3 entire days hoping to catch this guy)- but there was no action... We left town in February for a trip to London, where we had my friend Rachel house sit.... nothing happened then... since then, we have been grounded and at home and nothing has gone missing until last night....
Jeremy and I were sound asleep when Jeremy woke up (around 2am) and I must have woken up at the same time, not sure why and he asked me if I heard anything, and I said no, I had not heard anything that I could remember. So we went back to sleep... about 20 minutes later I woke up to the sound of what sounded like tennis shoes in the dryer... and I woke Jeremy up.... fast forwarding to this morning when we watched our surveillance tapes- this is what went down. .
The guy came at 2am and launched a rock through one of our HUGE 45'' x 100'' ft glass sliding doors and ran away... We obviously didnt come downstairs or turn on any lights (this must have been when Jeremy woke up) So, about 20 minutes later he came back, assuming we were not here we think, and broke the glass down and busted it in so that he could fit through ( this is when I woke up I think)... (And before you ask, yes, we have an alarm system... and YES, it SHOULD have gone off...and NO it did not. We are having that thing removed and a new company and new system put in ASAP).
The guy was so messed up and high on prescription meds (that were found in his car by the cops) that he was fumbling around inside over the course of about 10 minutes...
Jeremy and I were upstairs in the meantime on the phone with the police during this. The guy tried to make out with a Mac laptop and PS3... He was so high that was all he was able to make out with over the course of 10 minutes! He made it over our back fence ( where we watched him climb from the window of our master bedroom upstairs while we were on the phone with the police)... but he was so messed up that he was fumbling around and it took him about a minute or two to get over... by that time Jeremy had run out of the house and the cops had shown up and swung around to the back and caught him.... they found his 2 year old nephew in the front seat of his car. . .
This was a idiot meth head/ druggie from Sugarland - while we do have an idea of his connection to our house- we cant be for sure, but we are sure that this is the same guy who has been at our house before. According to the cop, he will be charged with burglary, which is a second degree felony- sentencing is 2-20 yrs in a state prison... but since we have surveillance on our previous break in and the cops found receipts for pawn shops- there is further investigation going on... and hopefully, he will go away for longer and be charged with our previous burglary(ies)
While it is unfortunate that we had to go through this, and I NEVER want to be in this situation again... I am so glad we caught him- this has been a frustrating situation and before you ask, YES, we are getting a shotgun... My dads on that for us:)
My fear now is that I will actually use it- since I actually know how...growing up on a ranch, I have used a gun before. Its a pretty scary feeling to be in your house knowing there is a thief downstairs and you just have to wait for the police. So... new alarm system, check... shotgun, check.
(PS... this guy had 14 outstanding warrants in Harris County and a extensive burglary record.)

The Highs... and now the Lows...
I woke up yesterday morning and over the course of the morning noticed that I thought my stomach was a little lower than it has been. If you take a look at any of my pregnant photos, Owen has been sitting just right under my ribs and sitting VERY high- with his little feet right up in my ribs 24/7...I really noticed it when I was standing next to Blair who is as far along in her pregnancy as I am and my stomach was so much higher than hers! It was so obvious that he is sitting super high!! But, as of yesterday, I have noticed that my stomach is lower. When I sit down I can feel my stomach in my lap more now (which is a weird feeling to feel your stomach sitting in your lap- haha) and I didnt notice him kicking my ribs as much yesterday. Therefore, I am making the conclusion that Owen has 'dropped' or began 'dropping' . . . And therefore, the journey begins. I thought for a moment last night about how he is going to come into this world and I wanted to hold my stomach and say, STOP- NO!!! HAHAHA! But, I think the closer we get I am going to be saying "Get out! Get out!"
I have continued to walk about 2.5-3 miles each day with Tate- so lets see if this idea that "walking and exercising" helps you in the long run.... if he is late, I am going to be upset about that!:)
Its a beautiful day in Houston today and I am getting a massage- I cant wait... My lower right back has been killing me- I was told that is due to my 'hips widening'- I said I did not want to hear those two words again- those are not friendly words to me- hahaha- but I guess that will make the whole process easier... Off to take Tate ( and Owen) for a walk...

6 week update
I am 34 weeks pregnant
(6 weeks to go!)
I went to Dr. Ivey today and all is on schedule and proceeding as planned- May 30th is still the due date! I go back to Dr. Ivey in 2 weeks and then I will go every week after that appointment. Dr. Ivey said that they will not let me go later than one week after the 30th- so no matter what, Owen will be here before June 6th!
Dr. Ivey is pretty sure he is head down - I told him I thought I could most definitely confirm that due to the fact that I feel like I have his feet in my ribs all day!
Its been raining in Houston the last couple of days- and I have enjoyed it! Its forced me to sit on the couch and relax- something that, believe it or not, is hard for me to do... so I am going to go back to that right now :)
happy monday!

Friends, Babies and Bellies!
This past weekend was FILLED ( literally from noon to 10pm) with baby showers for two very special friends of mine! Saturday afternoon a group of us hosted a baby shower at SoVino Wine Bar for Isabel David- a very special friend of mine who is due exactly one week before me! Isabel and Danny are expecting a boy too- so we are going to have two little toddlers on the loose getting into all sorts of messes soon enough!
After SoVino, we helped host a party for Blair and Scott Thrash, two very special friends of ours who are expecting a little girl!! They arent revealing the name just yet ... but I think that if little Thrash resembles her mamma at the very least, Owen is going to be one lucky little dude to have such a good looking friend :) Blair is due exactly one week after me...
So, the end of May through the beginning of June will be a definite time of babies for not only us but some of our very close friends! Which is awesome- because this means that I will have some great girlfriends to hang out with, with the little ones soon enough!
I am exactly 6 weeks away from Owens due date today... that is 42 days!! I have been feeling extremely LARGE lately! I have started looking like a chipmunk, you can tell by my photos ... I feel like I am storing berries in my cheeks these days.. My feet and hands aren't swelling yet but my feet are definitely getting a bit tender... I am sleeping well and I do wake up at least once a night - but I go right back to sleep... luckily! Unfortunately, for Jeremy, I have apparently started snoring... which is due to the pressure going on inside- haha- not much I can do about it other than try my best to sleep on my side at all times... poor Jeremy- maybe this is training for the dads to prepare them for what is about to come :)
The nursery is a mess right now- I am waiting on a dresser to come in and once it gets here everything that is all over the floor will go into the dresser and the room should be in order and I will post pictures of the final product.... but if Owen was to come tomorrow we would have everything we need. I dont plan on making any more trips to Babies-R-Us before he comes... at least I sure hope i don't have to!

Easter in Concan!
This Easter, Jeremy and I made the road trip down to Concan, Tx to see my dad. Jeremys father, Jim, step-mom, Kris and younger brother, James came too!! We had a great time driving around the ranch. We made a stop by the 'swimming hole' so that James and Jeremy could jump in... being that it is the 'frio river' ( frio means COLD in Spanish) the water was freezing, but the boys had a great time and jumped in!
The guys played golf and we grilled outside. On Easter Sunday the Easter Bunny came and hit some eggs- some were even filled with some $$$!!!

Nap Time Again!
My energy level has been sliding the last few days. I am continuing to walk about 2-3 miles a day in the morning but once early afternoon hits I am starting to feel a little more sluggish each day and very sleepy. Yesterday I took a nap during the middle of the Masters for the first time in a very very long time. And today, again, I took another nap. I am truly thankful to be in the position to be able to just lay down and take a nap when I feel like it, however, I have to admit I am not very good at taking naps. That might be hard for some people to believe but naps have never really worked for me. Its hard enough for me to actually lay down and give myself permission to take a nap, but when I do actually close my eyes its never for your 15 or 20 minute "power nap"... I am more of an hour or two napper. And sometimes I never really wake up from the nap and I go right back to bed for the night.. or I wake up groggy, grouchy and yawning the remainder of the day. I hear that naps are very important very early on after a baby- the idea is that you can nap when they are sleeping... so I plan on improving my nap taking skills over the next 6 weeks!
Everything is going well so far as far as Owen goes... he continues to kick and move around A LOT. My stomach is growing bigger than I ever imagined was even possible. It is a very strange feeling to walk by a mirror these days... because I still look twice due to the fact I look like I swallowed a basketball.
6 weeks and 5 days to go... not like I am counting down or anything?!

BBQ @ Cortneys
Last night I went to Cortneys house for a BBQ- Miss Chelsea Moon was in town visiting from San Francisco. It is always so great to see friends you havent seen in a while- Chelsea and I graduated from Trinity together and were in the same pledge class...
Above are some pictures from the night.... I know I wasn't the only brunette at Trinity, but I sure do have a lot of blonde friends :) But they are great ones!
Here are a few pics... including one of me @ 33 weeks pregnant...
I am now 33 WEEKS pregnant - on my 34th week- extremely hard to believe we are this far along already. My stomach is expanding- getting larger... I still look at it sometime in disbelief- I know Jeremy sure does! Owen is still moving around at top speeds in there and is very high- up in my ribs. I cant eat as much at one time now- I actually can only eat very little- I have to eat several times a day to make up for it.
I go to the doctor in a week, and then I will start going every week after that...I realized this weekend that I only have 6 weekends left... 6 weekends left to sleep in before Owen comes and rocks our world- in the best way!
I am about to take Tate for a walk- I have been trying to stay on top of walking a couple miles at least 5 times a week- its good for Tate and for my water retention. Apparently the walking is keeping me from swelling right now- and I intend on trying to keep it that way! :)
Have a great Sunday- LR

Photo Loco!
We are almost there! I haven't posted anything on here in a while, sorry! I will post pictures from our visit to my dads this past weekend for Easter once I get the pictures from Jeremys parents. I made it all the way to Concan with my camera and left my memory card in Houston!
All is going well on the Owen front- I went to the Dr. on Monday and everything is on schedule. It still is amazing to me that my check ups these days consist of a tape measure and a heart beat monitor. . . I was always under the impression you got ultrasounds at your appointments. You do get ultrasounds- but only at the beginning- the last ultrasound I had was at 20 weeks when we found out that Owen was a little boy and they did a big check up to make sure he is developing correctly. They said I wont have anymore ultrasounds unless its medically required- so I guess that is a good thing.... but I still want to see the little guy!! The nurse stuck me with a tad bit of reality when she explained to me that they will under no circumstances let me go any longer than 2 weeks late, and they would prefer for you to have your baby within the 40th week, so they will discuss inducing around 40 weeks and a few days... so just as she said " Linsay, you will most definitely have a little baby boy within the next 8 weeks- no matter what!" Reality check!
Two weeks ago, Jeremy and I went to John Blaisdell's 50th birthday party at RDG: Bar Annie and they had an awesome photo booth there for pictures- it was incredible. I am thinking this could be a great idea in 2-3 years for Owens 2nd or 3rd birthday- could be hilarious with kids!
Here are a few pics from the photo booth.
